Dear Sylvie
To save time, I’m sorry, but I’m writing in English as I also want to be able to thank you properly for our wonderful week with you. I have compiled an Album of photos which I’m sending you via Dropbox. A screenshot of the opening page is below and the 166 (!) photos should come through OK but please let me know if you have any problems. May I suggest that you go to the top right hand corner where it says ‘Open’ and then ‘Open in Picasa Photo Viewer’. That will then allow you to view all the photos at full screen and as a Slide Show. Enjoy…!I think that the photos show what a varied and enjoyable week we had with amazing experiences of French life. It was a pleasure to meet your friends and this added an extra dimension to our stay with you. It was certainly an action-packed time which included visiting the Abbey, touring the vineyards in a horse and buggy, vineyard lunches and tastings, taking part in the filmed cookery course, swimming, enjoying the Cadre Noir horse dressage display, going to a wine fair and round a distillery, paying our respects to Eleanor of Aquitaine and Richard the Lionheart, and the highlight which was, of course, going to the Festivini wine festival gala evening with that mock Wimbledon tennis match, British food French style including Fish & Chips followed by the Britpop rock concert…! Amazing…!I’m not sure that the week’s programme allowed for much formal French tuition but the whole experience was a lesson in French joie-de-vie so more instructive and enjoyable…!We enjoyed Montsoreau and visited the troglodyte mushroom farm and walked along the banks of the Loire to Candes-Saint-Martin for lunch. We returned to Saumur (on that very hot day!) and then returned via Nantes which we enjoyed.

We are glad that you had a good holiday in Bali and we are sure that you enjoyed the rest after weeks of teaching…

Please give our best wishes to Mark and remember us to your delightful friends and also show Michel the photos that feature him…!

Thank you again for all your help in giving us such a memorable week at Parfum de France…

Cordialement,

Richard & Gillylecomptoirdesvins
