Welcome to the wonderful world of French cooking!

These sessions are tailor-made for all those who love fine food. Explore the best of French culinary traditions with all the colour and savours of terroir in the company of a skilled chef either at the famous Licorne restaurant in Fontevraud  (workshop in French) or at Les Peupliers, Varennes sur Loire ( workshop in English) Of course your teacher is still with you during the workshop!

Whilst talking French, you craft a variety of dishes, gain understanding of the art of combining flavours and learn about the importance of the right wine to accompany each course. Under Fabrice’s expert eye different dishes are studied depending on the season and of course you get to take your works of art away with you.

Throughout the sessions you are accompanied by an experienced language trainer whose role is to facilitate understanding and link the thematic elements to structures and vocabulary with constant language input.

Perhaps you live in France all year round, or may be you are over here for certain times of the year… either way wouldn’t it be so much more interesting if you could communicate better with the people around you? You can either join a group for a weekly or bi-weekly class or attend an individual or semi-individual course for more rapid progress. You also have the unique opportunity of combining the learning of French with an exciting area of interest: gastronomy, wine or cultural heritage. Does not a 4-hour language and cookery workshop tickle your appetite or a half-day spent in the vineyards and wine-cellars with a wine expert? Or don’t you just fancy an intimate discovery of the abbey history under Sylvie’s guidance or would you rather indulge in a series of visits where local artisans will share with you their infectious enthusiasm for their craft?
